WHO CAN MAKE USE OF THE BUSINESS ADVICE SESSIONS?
All businesses AT ANY STAGE, from pre-start-up to established business can contact us for advice.
HOW MUCH DO THEY COST?
At the moment, they are fully-funded for all businesses! This means you pay nothing to have 3 x 1 hour appointments. In normal circumstances, new business/start-up advice or advice for our tenants and virtual tenants is still complimentary, and for businesses that have been in operation for more than three years, prices start at £45 per session.
WHICH REGIONS DO YOUR BUSINESS ADVICE SESSIONS COVER?
Due to securing additional funding from Colchester Borough Council, during the coronavirus crisis our business advice sessions are funded for all Colchester businesses, as well as well as covering other Partners in Essex. HOW LONG IS EACH SESSION?
Each session is approximately 30 minutes to 1-hour long.
HOW MANY SESSIONS CAN I HAVE?
You can have up to 3 x 1 hour fully-funded sessions. More sessions are available thereafter for £45 each.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO PREPARE?
There is no need to prepare anything for your appointment.
If you have a business plan it can be useful to send this to Colbea in advance of your appointment so it can be shared with your advisor.
It is also sometimes beneficial to have a list of things you would like to discuss with your advisor so that you can make the most of your time with them.
HOW DO THE BUSINESS ADVICE SESSIONS TAKE PLACE?
We have a secure telephone and video conferencing facility as part of our 3CX phone system. This allows us to make normal calls as well as hold video conversations where we can share screens and documents. Other platforms are also available upon request although this is our preferred method to get the best out of your advice appointment.
WHAT HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE DO I NEED?
For a video conference, you will need a device with a camera and microphone and access to the internet via a Google Chrome or Firefox web-browser. You can use a smartphone (android or iPhone) a tablet, laptop or desktop computer.
For a phone call, any working phone will do.
HOW DO I BOOK A SESSION?
Call us on 01206 548833 or email us at email@example.com. Our team will then contact you to book a session within two working days of us getting in touch.
We may retain your details in order to provide you with advice, mentoring or training in relation to a business or potential business that you run or intend to run. As this is a funded service we may be required to provide some of the information you provide to our funders for reporting purposes. They may also use this to contact you. You may at any time ask for a copy of the personal data we hold on you and we will respond in less than 28 days. You have the right to ask us to amend or delete any of your personal data by contacting us using the details below.
