Ashleigh joins National Enterprise Network Board

Ashleigh Seymour-Rutherford, CEO of the Colchester Business Enterprise Agency (COLBEA), has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the National Enterprise Network (NEN), a unique membership body representing those working in the enterprise sector across England.

NEN is an independent organisation made up of enterprise agencies, Chambers of Commerce, local authorities and other specialist providers. The existing board holds vast experience in the enterprise sector including from the perspective of the public and corporate sectors, as well as front-line enterprise support agencies.

Ashleigh, who has been heading up Colbea since September 2017, will add more than 15 years of experience to the NEN board, including four years as Assistant CEO of the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce. Ashleigh has a passion for both support, especially supporting young people into business, and, during her time with Suffolk Chamber, she established the Suffolk Young Chamber brand, which ‘bridged the gap’ between business and local schools.

Speaking about her appointment, Ashleigh says, “It is a great honour to be appointed to the National Enterprise Network’s board of directors. I am excited to join such select group who are so passionate about the provision of high-quality enterprise support for new and establishing businesses in all areas of the country.”

“As much as this is an exciting appointment on a personal level, this is a great opportunity for Colbea to benefit from sharing ideas with the leading support organisations nationwide, which can only help the agency and enterprise in Essex in its future growth.”

Ashleigh was inducted to the role at the NEN Annual Conference in December 2017.
